CHAPTER HISTORY
In the fall of 2000, a group of young women at Wayne State set out to find an organization that reflected their principles and goals as women in higher education. In their search the women quickly realized that none of the organizations on campus catered to their unique needs and cultural values. The ladies broadened their search beyond campus and came across Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. What stood out most about Lambda Theta Alpha was it's focus on community services, cultural awareness, and academic advancement, and last but not least the bond - a sisterhood that would last a lifetime.
In the Spring of 2001, five ladies known as "The Five Dimensions of Unity" became the founding sisters of Beta Omega Chapter here at Wayne State University. They truly paved the way in establishing not only the FIRST Latin sorority, but also the FIRST multicultural Greek organization, to ever exist on Wayne State's campus.
Now, over 18 years and many new sisters later, Lambda Theta Alpha continues to provide a support system to young women in higher education. More over, Lambda Theta Alpha continues to provide its members with ways to get involved in community service, cultural awareness, academic advancement and sisterhood.
